The Total Gastric Necrosis following Ingestion of Hydrochloric Acid

Abstract
|
|
|
The occurrence of the total gastric necrosis and corrosive gastritis are rare condition that develops
after ingestion of causatic agent, such as strong acid or alkali and other chemical corrosive substances.
The corrosive substance may be ingested acciddently or take with suicidal intents. The degree of
injury depend upon largely the nature and concentration of agent ingested.
Two cases of total gastric necrosis by ingestion of strong commercial hydrochloric acid for suicide
were presented and the literratures were reviewed.
